General Comments

Overall recommendation

Definitely Not
3
Absolutely

Best aspect

  • Very focused, high expectations, class size limited to 7 dancers, year round teachers who are still actively performing . Because of class size they get a lot done in classes, Every 2 weeks there is a new barre to memorize & new variation for every level
  • The amount of attention you get each class
  • The small classes and expert attention from the directors. Abby-Jayne and Guillaume were super straightforward with the dancers about mistakes and weaknesses, but were also encouraging and had many new approaches to help the dancers "get" things.

Least liked about program

  • No other dance styles offered, no housing available but that may change in the future (host families?)
  • Not any other genres of dance
  • A four hour day with back to back classes, no breaks at all. Every minute was valuable but my dancer really struggled to eat enough early in the day to stay fueled until 2 pm. Even a single 15 minute pause daily for a snack would be a huge help.

Suggested changes to program

  • Add in character dancing
  • Classes for other genres of dance
  • See above

Culture of program

  • Motivated, high expectations, kind students who work together well usually
  • Positive, inclusive, organized
  • If you were there ready to work, listen, and learn, then the directors would pour endlessly into you.

Other comments

  • Hidden gem in Seattle, incredible faculty & a big bonus is they have studio cats Smoothie & Milkshake which the dancers love!
  • They have two cats
  • This program gave my dancer- even in just two weeks!- a physical strength and mental confidence that her 3 letter year round program has not. But the directors also praised that training and encouraged her to go back with motivation and focus. They helped her see what was good there and what to not worry about.
