General Comments

Overall recommendation

Absolutely

Best aspect

  • "The small, warm, encouraging environment for a young dancer. Variety of classes with strong technique and pointe work every day. The hip hop instructor was incredibly fun and an excellent teacher, and even the youngest dancers had rep class and were able to perform rep in the end of intensive performance."
  • "The teachers gave great corrections, teachers were very helpful, small class sizes."
  • "I feel like the technique instruction was great. My dancer enjoyed the variety of instruction and felt she progressed a lot over the 4 weeks."

Least liked about program

  • "The lack of housing BUT I hear that is changing for 2026"
  • "Breakfast was not provided, the dorm food had a small variety and was not well received by the students, only 14 girls in the dorm, very few older girls in the dorm, only about 1/3 of the kids in the program stayed in the dorm (most were local), dorm students mostly stayed in their room with their roommate."
  • "Nothing stood out."

Suggested changes to program

  • "There needs to be a first day activity (ice breaker) and more nightly activities during the week (game night, movie night, cookie night within the dorm)."
  • "My dancer would have liked to have more contemporary and jazz classes in the schedule."

Culture of program

  • "Encouraging, structured, respectful, fun, and focused without engendering competition among dancers"
  • "The class experience was great, but the dorm was experience was just fair."
  • "Very positive, supportive environment. All the dancers were so nice and formed great friendships."

Other comments

  • "Partnering opportunities are provided. My daughter just didn't have those classes at age 11."
  • "Room check was early - 9pm. Laundry was only allowed on Saturday during a two hour window. There were 3 levels with about 15 students in each level of classes."
