Housing comment

  • All private rooms in a large hallway, boys and girls in same floor, younger students dleep close to supervisors room
  • there was the option to either have a roommate or not.
  • they didn't clean the room at all, only the toilet (not the bathroom)

Best aspect

  • Beautiful performance in theater
  • the variety of styles taught by different teachers, and meeting other dancers from all around the world.
  • Being able to work with multiple choreographers on pieces for the showcase.
  • Meeting dedicated dancers from around the world. They put together a very professional show in just two weeks.
  • The classes

Least liked about program

  • Communication afterwards
  • N/A
  • There were not consistent lights out times during the week and some of the students were extremely loud very late and RA's did not remedy this.
  • Rehearsals distracted from classes. The casting for the performance happened within the first two days of the program, so unless you were really shining, you were not cast in much in the ballet pieces. There was not enough food served to sustain all day dancing. Dancers needed to go to the store to pick up extra food.
  • The accomodation

Suggested changes to program

  • Better communication afterwards to receive info at fulltime program/pictures of the performance
  • N/A
  • Not really anything, except maybe more/better food, and lights out time at dorms
  • I would schedule dedicated rehearsal time outside of ballet technique and pointe class. I think to put on such a high caliber show and not sacrifice class time the intensive would need to be longer than two weeks.
  • The cleanliness of accomodation + communication and general organisation; additionally there were extra costs not included at first.

Culture of program

  • Hard work but very lovely teachers
  • it was wonderful, all staff was open to discussion and was happy to help.
  • Welcoming and nurturing.
  • Fun and welcoming.
  • Nice community, helpful teachers, hardworking

Other comments

  • You come to train ballet here not to play games or party/outings.
  • it was fantastic, as it is less ‘popular’, classes were not crowded and there was enough focus on each student.
  • The neighborhood in Brussels is lovely. The dorms are a short walk to the studios. This a great company type experience intensive, but it is not a place to go to improve your technique.
  • informed us we would all have single rooms, ended up in a triple room I didn't ask for. the room in question was also quite small with one desk and one drawer.
