Absolutely

Best aspect

  • Variet of teachers, including wonderful faculty from Boulder Ballet
  • Very inclusive

Least liked about program

  • The scedule was constantly changing, and often with very little notice. For commuter students with working parents, getting a message on the Band app that a group was getting out significantly early and having 45 minutes notice before that early dismissal was really difficult - this was inconsiderate to families who had already arranged work schedules, transportation support, etc based on thst week's stated / distributed schedule. Even families from out of town who were staying with local family or in rented accommodations commented on how this uncertain schedule negatively impacted them and made logistics much more challenging. Costume and makeup requirements for the final show were also provided last minute. All dancers were charged the same $100+ costume fee to participate in the final performance, but only the most advanced group got much in the way of a costume provided. The other two groups got a scarf that they spent class time cutting off a roll of fabric. I repeat - a SCARF.
  • No partnering available

Suggested changes to program

  • Way better communication, and more equity of opportunity across levels.
  • N/a

Culture of program

  • Very welcoming overall - Boulder Ballet hosted the program in their studios, and that was nice.
  • Welcoming and inclusive

Other comments

  • Very different energy from more rigorous programs associated with a professional company, but also a lot of opportunity for fun and exploration.
