  • Ballet class everyday, once a week 1 and a half hour modern and caractere, 1 hour and 15 minutes of partnering . 1 3/4 of pointe technique and 45 minutes of variations and 45 minutes of body conditioning/pilates. Sometimes we have mental skills, nutrition class and music class.

Description of Partnering Class

  • Because nba 5/6 are mixed together, it was not really focused on the basics, but i learned alot.
  • It is the first year they do partnering. It is learning the basics.

Additional Comments

  • In nba 5/6 its called ‘supp adage’ in the higher levels it’ s just pas de deux
  • Class can be chaotic Corrections not always given or helpfull. Students mostly learn from the older students. Class is given to nba5 en nba6

  • 2/3 times a year we do a physical test, so that everybody knows how they are doing and what they need to improve.
  • Per semester they give either pilates or body conditioning

  • Physio is called immediately when you get injured in the class, if you get injured outside of class you can make an appointment,
  • There are physiotherapist available for students they can give advice but dont do treatments

Describe Recovery Plan

  • Physio decides if you can still do ballet classes or if you need a ‘ballet stop’ and they give you exercises. If after a while you are still injured they will send you to an other physio.
  • My daughter was given advice on exercise and advice what she can and cant do in class. We got an extra physiotherapist for treatment

  • They try but they arent able to prevent long term injuries. Students are afraid to be honest because of they can be told to stop class temporarily and when they Come back from injury they still have to be at the class level as soon as possible.
