Overall Comments

Program's Best Aspect:

Some of the faculty was spectacular.

Program's Worst Aspect:

Other faculty. One of the teachers was rather harsh in treatment. Discouraging instead of encouraging. Telling us that we aren't living up to the Joffrey name and that we're basically an embarrassment to the teacher and Joffrey.

What Changes Would Be Helpful?

Current artistic director wouldn't be there in the fall. More performance opportunities. More focus on the Ballet program, not just the Jazz and Contemporary program. Joffrey Ballet School Texas doesn't have their own facilities, so it makes the schedule and availability less than ideal for everyone. Teachers could push the students harder, but continuing to be encouraging.

Anything Else We Should Know?

Watch for Artistic Director change. If the AD doesn't change from Spring 2024, it's not a healthy environment.
