My 12yo was in Level 6 (8 is the highest) this year. She had acro, ballet, and partnering on Monday, contemporary and ballet on Wed, tap, ballet, and variations or pointe on Thursday, and ballet on Saturday.

For level 6, it was a beginner partnering class of 30 minutes and the girls had been on pointe less than 2 years, usually less than 1 year. The partners were 2 male teachers with extensive experience.

It's short, but a good introduction to partnering.

It's a small pre-pro school. Many of the teachers have significant knowledge about injury prevention and recovery, and discuss with parents when a clinical assessment is suggested.

Informal. My student feels more comfortable approaching some teachers over others. I do think a more formal mentoring program would be good for the level 7 and 8 dancers, but it isn't as necessary for level 6.
