Curriculum Comments:

Strict vaganova technique, but with a light educated adjustment to raising dancers in America. Intermediate and advanced levels have 1.5 h technique class plus 0.5-1 h pointe. Classes are held consistently, daily, year round, with a short break in August for vacation. A cross- training coach supports dancers' training four times a week. Two 1.5 h strength/conditioning/flexibility classes per week are required, with two optional classes provided, which most dancers take advantage of. Classes are divided by level. Character/repertoire/contemporary classes are alternating, Contemporary provided twice a week for an hour and a half.

Dancer Had Mentor?

Yes

Mentoring Details:

Mentoring is informal in the earlier years as the director closely observes each dancer's development. Mentorship becomes more formal and strategic in later years when a specific finishing school/college/program/company is identified. Parents input is valued. Communication is caring, helpful, conflict-and- drama-free, and very professional. Mentorship is also extremely useful in making decisions about summer intensives, competing or not competing, which opportunities benefit dancers long-term and are worth investing into, and which are wasteful. The guidance was in dancers's best interest, not in the interest of promoting the school or the teacher.

Career Support:

Describe How School Helped:

The director was absolutely crucial in helping my dancer prepare and find the right fit at one of the top European programs on a full scholarship. It was a very strategic and intentional process, especially in the last two years. We are grateful and blessed for sure.

Overall Comments

Program's Best Aspect:

Everything. Lots of personal attention, care, mentorship. Exceptional program with a caring teacher who has been through every stage in her own dance career, and could guide us for the past eight years with much care and professionalism.

Program's Worst Aspect:

Only private lessons/training was available in the earlier years, but over the last three-four yearsthe program has evolved into a small but full-scale program in terms of class offerings and community. It is still is very small by design , with enough time for personal attention for each dancer.

What Changes Would Be Helpful?

Nothing

Anything Else We Should Know?

This is the program that eliminates all the fluff, extra expenses, and invests into solid foundational training for each dancer. It is focused, serious, but positive and happy. Your dancer will be in great hands. He or she will be developed to their full potential, and given proper guidance for the future professional training or placement.
